The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) is the leading organization representing Sri Lanka’s inbound tourism sector. Established in 1975 as the Association of Group Tour Agents (AGTA) and restructured in 2002, SLAITO has been instrumental in advocating for industry interests, guiding policymakers, and ensuring Sri Lanka’s position as a top global travel destination.
Recognized under the Sri Lanka Tourism Act, SLAITO represents Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and other key stakeholders, collectively managing the majority of inbound tourists. It collaborates closely with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and leads initiatives like “One Industry, One Voice” to unify the sector and address challenges with government support.
With a legacy of leadership and a focus on sustainable growth, SLAITO continues to shape the future of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.
