Sri Lanka Tourism Job Fair & Career Expo 2022

Conceptualised and organised by SLAITO Youth & Alumni together with ATEHM, Department of Economics of the University of Colombo, the Sri Lanka Tourism Job Fair & Career Expo 2022 was a landmark initiative — the first of its kind in Sri Lanka to connect job-seeking private and public university students, graduates, and members of the general public directly with Travel Agencies, DMCs, Hotels, and other employers across the tourism industry.

Held at a time when the industry was roaring back to life and in need of the next generation of visionaries, the event was designed to benefit both businesses and individuals by bringing them together to build long-term careers in tourism.

The event was held in two parts:

• "Working in the Tourism Industry" — A Session for Potential Candidates. Held ahead of the job fair, this session brought together some of the industry's most eminent personalities, who shared insights on the wealth of career opportunities available, how to excel in the sector, and what employers expect from candidates.
• Sri Lanka Tourism Job Fair & Career Expo 2022. The fair linked potential applicants directly with employers, reducing hiring costs for businesses while offering candidates a one-stop platform to find a job in the industry.

The event was held on Saturday, 12th February 2022, from 9:30 AM onwards at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo.
